In the Red Swastik film, she was credited as Menka since the director, Vinod Pande,felt the name Mona was too common. But in all her other films she will be credited as Mona.

She is inspired by Angelina Jolie with her performance in Gia . Mona made her debut with a small time film Time Pass opposite Arjun Punj and followed by bit roles in Dosti starring Sunny Deol and Jawal Diwani. She played as a main actress in Naughty Boy with Rahul Roy.
